Privacy policy

Introduction

We are a community for student and business. People use our Services to find and be found for business opportunities, work, thesis, internships and project work as well as connect with others and take part of information via newsletter or network meetings. Our Privacy Policy applies to any Users or Visitor to our Services.

Our registered users (“Users”) share their professional identities, post and find business and career opportunities.

Services

This Privacy Policy applies to campusvannerconnects.se, campusvanner.se & (appen).

Data Controllers and Contracting Parties

Campus Vänner will be the controller of your personal data provided to, or collected by or for, or processed in connection with our Services e.g. you are entering into the Terms of Service with Campus Vänner Connects.

Change

Changes to the Privacy Policy apply to your use of our Services after the “effective date.”

Campus Vänner (“we” or “us”) can modify this Privacy Policy, and if we make material changes to it, we will provide notice through our Services, or by other means. If you object to any changes, you may close your account.

You acknowledge that your continued use of our Services after we publish or send a notice about our changes to this Privacy Policy means that the collection, use and sharing of your personal data is subject to the updated Privacy Policy.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data You Provide To Us

You provide data to create an account with us or by signing up for a newsletter, applying for scholarship, sending feedback on approved scholarships or applying for reversed mentorship or signing up for our events (we use a third party service for our events invitations (for more information regarding events, see the event invitation in question).

Registration

To create an account you need to provide data including your name, email address (and if you are a student your education), and a password. You create your own profile (a complete profile helps you get the most from our Services).

Profile

You choose what information you want to add to your profile, such as your education, work experience, skills and photo. You don’t have to provide additional information on your profile; however, to updated your profile information helps you to get more from our Services, including helping business opportunities to find you. Please do not post or add any personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available to the Users of our Service.

Posting and Uploading

We collect personal data from you when you provide, post or upload it to our Services, such as when you fill out a form, (e.g., with demographic data), respond to a survey, post a content or interact with content. You don’t have to post or upload personal data; though if you don’t, it may limit your ability to grow and engage with your network and take part of our Services.  

1.2 Service Use

We log your visits and use of our Services, including mobile apps.

We log usage data when you visit or otherwise use our Services, including our sites, app and platform technology (e.g., our off-site plugins), such as when you view or click on content, perform a search, share content. We use log-ins, cookies, device information and internet protocol (“IP”) addresses to identify you and log your use.

Our Services allow you to interact with other users on our platform. To do so you can either apply to or post a business opportunity of your choice or send messages to other users throw contact information posted by other users.

We will use data about you (such as your profile and profiles you follow) to suggest opportunities for you posted by other Users profiles you have chosen to follow.

It is your choice whether to invite someone to our Services, send messages and interact with another user.

Career

Our Services allow you to explore careers, and seek out, and to be found for career opportunities. Your profile can be found by those looking to connect regarding job opportunities, internships, thesis, mentor program and/or project work. Keeping your profile accurate and up-to-date may help you better connect to others and to opportunities through our Services.

Business

Our Services allow you to explore business opportunities by finding people to hire or to connect with via thesis, internships or project work. Adds that you post can be found by those looking to get hired by you (for a job or a specific task) or to connect for thesis or internship opportunities. You can signal that you are interested in certain business opportunities directly in your profile. Keeping your profile accurate and up-to-date may help you better connect to others and to opportunities through our Services.

2.2 Marketing

We promote our Services to you and others.

We use data and content about users for invitations and communications promoting usership and network growth, engagement and our Services.

2.3 Developing Services and Research

We develop our Services and conduct research.

Service Development

We use data, including public feedback, to conduct research and development for the further development of our Services in order to provide you and others with a better, more intuitive and personalized experience, drive usership growth and engagement on our Services, and help connect professionals to each other and to economic opportunity.

Surveys

Polls and surveys may be conducted by us and others through our Services. You are not obligated to respond to polls or surveys, and you have choices about the information you provide. You may opt-out of survey invitations.

2.4 Customer Support

We use data to help you and fix problems.

We use the data to investigate, respond to and resolve complaints and Service issues (e.g., bugs).

Terms and Conditions Campus Vänner Connects

By creating an account or by utilizing Campus Vänner Connects you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Thank you for using Campus Vänner Connnects

These terms of service (“Terms”) cover your use and access to our mobile application (“Campus Vänner connects app” or “App”) including specifications, documentation, manuals and accessories, if any, related to the App. By using Campus Vänner Connects app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and to the Privacy policy (collectively referred to as the “Agreement”). If you’re using the Campus Vänner Connects app for an entity or organization, you hereby represent and warrant that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of that entity or organization.

Campus Vänner Connects app and associated services

This Agreement governs the use or utilization of the Campus Vänner Connects app where clients approved by Campus Vänner (“Clients”) and students (“Students”) (jointly referred to as “Users”) can create an Account with the purpose to find workers or jobs, internships and/or partners for thesis and projects.

All Users are entitled to delete or modify their profile description at any time.

Modification of the Campus Vänner Connects app

Campus Vänner reserves the right to modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, the app (or any part thereof) at any time to the extent permitted by applicable legislation without informing the user. Copyright and all other rights in respect of modifications of the App shall inure to Campus Vänner.

Your information and proper use

By using the Campus Vänner Connets app (and registering an Account on the App) you provide us with information. Users information are handled on the users behalf, and in accordance with these Terms and in accordance with the European data law; GDPR. Please read our Privacy Policy for more information.

Campus Vänner does not claim ownership to your information. However, by uploading information to the Campus Vänner Connects app you give Campus Vänner the limited rights to your content necessary to offer the services.

You acknowledge that when using the Campus Vänner Connects app you are fully responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the information and for all activities that occur under your Account. For the avoidance of doubt, Campus Vänner is not responsible and does not control content posted or shared by Users via the Campus Vänner Connects app and does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of such user information.

By registering an Account on the Campus Vänner Connects app, you warrant that:

  • you shall act in compliance with this Agreement
  • you shall provide true, accurate and complete information
  • you have all necessary right, power and authority to enter into this Agreement and to perform the acts required of you hereunder
  • you shall not infringe any intellectual property

Campus Vänner is entitled to, at its sole discretion, refuse, modify, delete or disable any content available via the Campus Vänner Connects app. Furthermore, Campus Vänner is entitled to suspend or terminate your Account and to refuse any future use of the App should you act in breach of this section.

Intellectual property rights

Campus Vänner and/or its suppliers, as applicable, retain ownership of all proprietary rights in the Campus Vänner Connects app and in all trade names, trademarks and Campus Vänner Connects app marks associated with the Campus Vänner Connects app.

Termination and cancellation

You are free to end your Account at any time. Upon termination of the treatment of the member’s personal data, all data containing personal information shall be destroyed in accordance with the European data law; GDPR.

Campus Vänner is entitled to, at its sole discretion and without notice, terminate the Campus Vänner Connects app, the Agreement, or suspend or terminate your Account at any time and for any reason.

“as is”

The Campus Vänner Connects app is provided “as is”. Campus Vänner, its affiliates and suppliers expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to any warranties or representation regarding results that may be obtained from the Campus Vänner Connects app, the security of the Campus Vänner Connects app, non-infringement or that the Campus Vänner Connects app will meet any user´s requirements. No oral or written information or advice given by Campus Vänner or its authorized representatives shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of Campus Vänner obligations.

Disputes

Disputes shall be handled informally by you contacting Campus Vänner at info@campusvanner.se or by Campus Vänner contacting you via the email address associated with your account.
Disputes regarding the interpretation or application of these Terms and related legal matters shall be settled by public court. Swedish law shall be applicable, if nothing else has been agreed upon.

Entire agreement and general provisions

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Campus Vänner and supersedes any other prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, terms or conditions applicable to the subject matter. These Terms create no third party beneficiary rights. Campus Vänner may change the terms of this Agreement at any time by posting modified terms on its website.

Severability; waiver

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of this Agreement shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision of this Agreement.

Jurisdiction

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of Sweden.

Cockie policy Campus Vänner

We use cookies at the Campus Vänners website. Cookies are short text pieces stored at the user’s computer. They can be used to track the user’s behaviour on the website.

There are two types of cookies:

  1. A permanent cookie stays at the user’s computer during a certain tim
  2. A session cookie is stored temporary in the computer’s memory while the user visits the website. Session cookies are removed as you close your web browser.

We use cookies at the Cmapus Vänners websites in order for the e-services to function properly and to track visitors’ statistics.

No personal information about the user, such as e-mail or name, will be stored.

If you choose not to accept the use of cookies, simply switch off the cookies function in your web browser or in the security settings.

You can set the web browser so that you will get a question each time the website tries to place a cookie in your computer. You can also delete previous cookies from your web browser. Read more on this under ”Help” in your web browser.
